Commenting on her appointment, Sandy Wilson (pictured above), formerly Victorian Construction Safety Manager, said, “Safety is AE Smith’s number one priority. To be appointed as the National Safety Manager is a big responsibility, one that I’m delighted to have been offered.”

During Nick Daley’s tenure as National Safety Manager, AE Smith has achieved tremendous improvement in the safety record. In particular the 12 month rolling average Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) has halved in the past year.

David Willett, AE Smith CEO, said of the safety record, “Improvement like this takes sustained effort from many people, guided by individuals who embrace safety and lead from the front. Nick Daley has demonstrated this leadership and helped us as an organisation achieve a better safety outcome.”

With Nick moving into a Project Management role, David Willett knows that AE Smith’s safety continues to be in safe hands with the appointment of Sandy Wilson.

“Sandy has been an outstanding Safety Manager for the Victoria Construction team and is highly regarded by the team for her passion to ensure everyone returns home safely every day,” David said.

“I look forward to working with all our people around Australia, along with Spotless’s team to maintain our excellent safety record and find opportunities for continual improvement,” said Sandy.

“I would like to congratulate both Nick and Sandy for their excellent contributions to date and their well-deserved transitions,” said David Willett.
