AE Smith Adelaide Town Hall painting refurbishment project

4 May 2016

In February, AE Smith completed internal painting of Adelaide Town Hall Auditorium for the Adelaide City Council. As principal contractor for the project, the decorative makeover had a planned schedule of one week at the start of 2016 where AE Smith was commissioned to achieve a high standard of refurbishment whilst completing the project in a short timeframe.

AE Smith worked closely with the Architect and Heritage Consultant to bring the Auditorium back to the original 1800s colour scheme. This partnership achieved a very high standard of finish to produce an accurate representation of the original Auditorium.

The AE Smith SA team was nominated for an award by Adelaide City Council for our painting services at the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia Excellence Awards.

Wayne Long, General Manager – South Australia, said:

“This was a monumental task which many of our local competitors suggested could not be done within the seven day time frame, however it was completed on time and on budget and received great reviews from the Council representatives.”

Nominated in the “Excellence in Asset Management Projects and Practice” category, this is a great opportunity to showcase our service offering to a broad cross-section of Local Government and the private sector.

AE Smith covers all facets of painting, maintenance and building repairs and reinstatements across various industries, paying the utmost attention to every detail of the project.
